It’s That Time Again!

This year I will walk in my third Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure.  I will crew my second.  I’d like to also walk in my fourth.  I won’t sign up for the fourth until I’ve raised $2500 for the third event:  Chicago 2012.  I’ll be signing up for my second Twin Cities Crew experience this weekend.

Why?  First I will share this video with you.

Now I will give a list of how Cancer has affected my life:

Grandfather – Colon Cancer RIP (Age 71)

Father – Colon Cancer RIP (Age 52)

Grandmother – Cervical Cancer

Mother – Cervical Cancer X2 SURVIVOR!

Mi Prima Amiga – Cervical Cancer KICKED ITS ASS!, Komen Warrior!

Aunt – Breast Cancer RIP (Age 38)

Step-sister – Breast Cancer RIP (Age 39)

Sister-in-law – Esophageal Cancer RIP (Age 60)

Friends and relatives too numerous to list here (and some who would not appreciate the privacy invasion):  Breast Cancer, Leukemia, Lymphoma.  Some survivors, some not.  Some diagnosed as young as 2.

I believe that advances made in treating one kind of cancer will translate into progress on other fronts.  But the 3Day, it’s bold.  It’s audacious!  Men in tutus audacious!  Me in pink hair audacious!

Also, this song here is my theme.  Take time to listen and read the words.  I can change the world.  I will make a difference.  I will leave my mark and you will notice.

Will you?  I am asking you to do two things.  First, click on “Chicago 2012” above to go to my Komen fundraising page and give as generously as you can.  Second, ask yourself what else you can do to leave your mark on the world.

If you tell me, I’ll keep you motivated!
